What is Squoosh?
Squoosh is an open-source image compressor built by Google Chrome Labs. You drop in a photo, pick an output format such as WebP, AVIF, MozJPEG or OxiPNG, and drag a slider to compare the original and the compressed version side by side before you save it.
All the work happens on your own device. The codecs are compiled to WebAssembly and run inside the browser tab, so your images are never uploaded to a server. Once the page has loaded it even works offline.
